Welcome to Laveesha Blog

fashion blog Jewellery Laveesha Statement jewellery TV3 Xposé weddings

Hello Fashionistas,

After much procrastination i've decided to bite the bullet and start a fashion blog. I know what you're probably thinking. I'm a little late joining the party but, hey better to arrive fashionably late!

My name is Louise Breslin. I am a medical scientist and founder of Laveesha Jewellery.  I'm also a qualifed MUA. I love nothing better than getting up on stage to teach an audience of fellow makeup addicts at Laveesha Masterclasses. Never a quiet moment but, i wouldn't change it for the world!

The concept for Laveesha arose following a trip to New York. I was in awe of the fashion i was witnessing on the streets of Manhattan. New York's sidewalks served as a runway for Park Avenue socialites. The TV programme Gossip Girl was reaching its crescendo and New York's Upper East Siders were emulating Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Corporate wear was being transformed by statement jewellery. A concept that was so novel and intriguing at the same time. To me, statement jewellery was always an afterthought or an impulse buy before a wedding. The thought of jewellery being the exclamation point of an outfit, bringing you from desk to dinner was genius! So, i decided to curate a collection inspired by New York and thus Laveesha was born. The name arose as a play on my name in Irish, Labhaoise.

Fast forward to 2017 and here we are several collections in. This year has been an incredible year, with highlights including being interviewed on TV3 Xposé several times and of course winning the XFA fafinder/Xposé award for best accessories.

I am hoping to use this blog to document all things fashion, with a little bit of skincare thrown in for good measure. It would be plain rude if i didn't share with you highlights from the latest fashion and beauty events that i attend!

Coincidentally, I'm running out the door to an event. As i pick up some statement pearls i am reminded of the immortal words of Jackie Kennedy " Pearls are always appropriate" .

On that note, we need to talk about pearls! Until next time....

Love Laveesha

xoxo
